By Mallory Hinton

There are strict size and quantity restrictions for taking striped bass, and licenses are required. Depending on the season, the fishing can be so plentiful that the daily limit may be reached in about an hour's time. A experienced angler can show you how to hook a huge bass within several feet of the shore. The technique is called bouncing the rig onto the shore. If you cast a rig too close to a fish near the shore, they may get nervous and swim away. The trick is to introduce the rig into the water by little bounces from the sandy shore. The fish may be intrigued by your bouncing lure, and take it.

If there are windy conditions, you can use them to drive the bass to you. They will follow the bait fish as they struggle against the currents produced by the wind. If your lure is waiting there, you may get a hit.

Guides have a lot of knowledge and skills to share with you but they have something else to offer. They have well-equipped fishing boats, with powerful engines and the latest fish-finding equipment. There's nothing like experiencing a fishing frenzy out in the deep water. You will have trouble keeping up with the fish as they grab lure after lure.

This area has many vacation cottages for rent and other luxury accommodations. You may want to stay a few days and take a fishing trip with one of the guides. Striped bass are a superb game fish and this is one of the places to find them.

Cuba: A Great Place For Water Sports

By Jose Mauricio Maurette

Waking up, going over to the window and seeing the unmistakable blue of a tropical sea. There's no better therapy, no better way of greeting the day. While on your Cuba Holidays, this is a daily experience, and you can enjoy it not only in a beach hotel but also in one of the more luxurious hotels in the city and even up in a mountain retreat. Here, the sea is a living presence; in those few places where you can't see it, you can still smell and sense it.

There is an average of 330 sunny days a year, with few clouds. The main tourist resorts (including the ones on the cays) have international airports, and the excellent hotel infrastructure is complemented with a wide range of extra hotel facilities (car and bus rentals, marinas, scuba-diving centers, shops, beauty parlors, fitness centers, etc.), entertainment during the day and at night, excursions to nearby cities, medical attention, and special family and honeymoon Cuba holiday packages.

The cays which form the outermost fringe of the archipelago are particularly enticing. They have been left in nearly their natural state, with their original flora and fauna, so they still look much as they did when Christopher Columbus discovered these lands over five centuries ago.

It has over 3560 miles (5746 kilometers) of irregular coastline, including more than 200 bays and over 300 beaches whose sand is of different colors and textures. It is common knowledge that the Cuban sea is of excellent quality.

Cuba has 36 scuba-diving centers, which are related to over 500 carefully selected sites in lush underwater seascapes. The show begins just a few feet from the coast, and it keeps expanding as you go out, climaxing in a slope or sharp drop.

This peaceful, silent world-whose water is so clear that you can see for from 65 to 130 feet (from 20 to 40 meters) around you teems with fish of many colors, shapes and sizes, whose world consists of forests of coral, sponges, gorgonians and algae.

Caves, profusely decorated vertical walls, tunnels, cliffs and channels offer endless options for scuba diving both during the day and at night.... Experiences go from simple observation to swimming near large fish in complete safety.

Cuba undoubtedly is one of the most stunning tourist destinations in the World. Add the irrefutable fact of a super rich culture and you have the perfect formula for an unforgettable holiday.

Save Money On Your Vacation With Great Cruise Deals

By Dave Bowman

A mistake that many people make when looking for cruise deals is to avoid the cruise lines completely and go directly to cruise cost comparison sites. The problem is, if you don't know where the starting price point is for the cruise that you want to take, how do you know whether or not you are getting the best deal for your cruise?

You should do more than just look on a cruise line site, you should call them. Although you will probably experience some pressure to make a purchase immediately, make it clear that you are only looking for information so that you can compare prices for the cruise. Cruise lines can offer you deals that comparison sites don't have so find the best deal there and then start looking elsewhere to do your comparisons.

Cruise deals can be found year round, but often you will find that the most advertisements for these deals are found from the beginning of the year through spring. However, these deals are typically time sensitive, such as buy your tickets by such and such time.

You can also find hot deals if you are willing to travel on a cruise at a time of year where other people aren't cruising. The great thing is that you can cruise to many temperate places so even if it is the middle of winter, if you are taking a cruise to the Caribbean, then you aren't going to be affected by the adverse weather.

You may think that the Internet is your best source for cruise deals, but you might be surprised to learn that there are still some travel agents that can get a great deal on cruises. In fact, if you check out some of the bigger travel agencies, you will find that they have relationships with cruise lines that no one else has.

If you prefer to use the Internet to find your cruise at a great price, then check with online travel agencies. Cruise lines really do have better relationships with some companies than other so make sure that you check with all of the big names before you make your final selection.

A great way to get excellent cruise deals is by being flexible about the kind of cruise that you want to take. There are some people who save their whole lives to take a month long cruise to Alaska, but if this isn't you, then consider being more flexible about your destination so that you can get a lower price.

There are many exotic locations that you can take a cruise to. You might be surprised at how similar some areas are to each other in terms of lovely weather and beautiful scenery. Instead of saying I must go to a certain place, consider choosing other locations that can be just as pleasing and exciting to visit.

Travel Tips For Increasing A Laptop's Battery Life

By Randy Kalp

Laptop battery life on the road can be a real hassle. Claims of five to six hours are as believable as Whitney Houston's sobriety. When were camping electricity is always at a premium for us and it's always frustrating to lose power in the middle of working on the computer in the tent. We've tried every possible way to possible to increase our laptop's battery life and we've discovered there are several simple tricks to get the most from your laptop battery.

1. Drop the brightness to the lowest possible setting that you can endure: This can be really tough for me since editing photos at a low brightness setting is not ideal. Instead of editing, I will try to sort through pictures and then put them in a folder for editing later when I can plug in.

2. Unplug any USB device, like iPods or SD card readers, that you are not using: Nothing drains the laptop battery like having an iPod plugged in. Sometimes you are so used to plugging in card readers or other devices that it becomes second nature. When conserving battery power make sure your computer doesn't have to work hard at anything else.

3. If not needed, turn off WiFi and/or Bluetooth: I always forget this one! The WiFi is always on and even though I'm not using the Internet at the time, it is still draining the power off the computer. Always remember to shut off the WiFi & Bluetooth so your computer isn't working extra hard trying to find possible Internet connections.

4. Eject DVDs fro the disc drive: Have you ever fallen asleep watching a DVD movie only to find the disc days later in the drive spinning. Well, that spinning equals battery drain, so always make sure if you are trying to conserve your battery power, you eject any discs.

5. Put your laptop to sleep: For short downtimes between use, its best for your battery life if you put your laptop to sleep. For longer periods in between use, place your laptop in hibernate mode.

Prefer to experience Rio de Janeiro on a much deeper level? Learn Portuguese while lodging in hotels

By Jeiziara Medeiros

Mastering Portuguese in Rio de Janeiro is a way to experience Brazil on a greater level. Even though a time consuming process, it is certainly a step beyond what a typical visitor might take if they are simply on holiday to enjoy the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. Of course, it is a sign that this means something to you alot more than basically a vacation. This is a long term commitment.

So as soon as you travel to Rio de Janeiro, so how does one go about learning Portuguese? Certainly, you need to resolve your living arrangements. It could get quite pricey staying in hotels for the length of stay that it will require to learn the local language, so you might take into consideration rentals such as apartments or flats. These will likely present some more affordable accommodations. Also, if price is key, you might take into consideration looking for rentals outside of Copacabana and Ipanema, since these pieces of real estate tend to be more high priced.

So now that's handled, whether you've decided to stay in apartments, flats, hotels or someone's couch, the issue still remains. How should you go about learning Portuguese? Well, to begin with, you are very likely going to need some books. Also, television can actually be a valuable tool. Beyond this, you're in luck, because every Brazilian is an amateur Portuguese instructor. Though, this is said as kind of a joke, it really isn't. The lifestyle in Rio de Janeiro is friendly and outgoing. People will be more than happy to teach you phrases in Portuguese and actually will enjoy the effort that you make.

Another choice that a serious student should consider is actually entering a formal education on the subject matter. Again, alternatives exist for this. It is possible to find group lessons as well as private tutors who can make accommodations for you. Language schools are flourishing businesses in Rio, so you shouldn't have to look very far. Also, it is possible for private tutors to come to your home whether you're residing in hotels or apartments. This is a common practice in Rio.

Obviously with anything, what you get out will be equal to what you invest. A disciplined student is obviously going to learn at a much faster rate than those who are not. But the tools are there if you are seriously looking to experience Brazil on a greater level and be able to speak the language of the country.

The options concerning hotels and motels in Rio de Janeiro

By Claudio Tostes

Any one who is new to travel in Rio de Janeiro ought to learn about some significant things when you are on your vacation. One crucial lesson to take note of is the distinction between hotels and motels as it pertains to Brazil. From an American viewpoint, you likely would think that the main difference is price and quality of these kind of rentals and you may keep this idea for some time as you stroll the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana. But you will soon notice that to Brazilians, there is a difference. A big difference.

What on earth is this difference you ask? Well, to put it blunt and basic, hotels are for slumber and motels are for having sex. There really isn't any other way to put it and this is a basic fact in Rio de Janeiro as well as the rest of Brazil. So should you be taking a holiday here, it's really something that you should know. If you're sipping that martini in a quaint little bar of Copacabana or Ipanema and anyone refers to a motel, you'll know exactly what they're discussing

One may be wondering as to why this is. While in the United States, motels tend to be rest stops for travelers who are looking for affordable quarters for the night. Just a place to nap. In Brazil, you need to look at things from a cultural standpoint. Most people live in close quarters. It's not normal for Brazilians to have their own apartments, rentals or flats. Usually people can't afford these kind of accommodations alone, so it's very common to live with their families.

Now this could change eventually as Brazil becomes economically more influential. As apartments and flats are springing up all over Rio. But then again, most likely not since this idea is so imbedded in the culture. Privacy is certainly something rare. Usually people in Brazil who are travelling on business are going to move toward hotels anyway. Though, as infrastructure becomes more enhanced, you might have more people who have lower budgets. This lower middle class will likely be the kind that may utilize motels as a more cost-effective alternative and cause a cultural shift.

Having said that, right now, during the time of this writing hotels mean slumber and motels mean love-making. Simple enough right? Shouldn't be any more errors as to the reason for this type of real estate. Hopefully this has cleared up some confusion to anyone who might be coming to Rio de Janeiro and help them avoid a potentially embarrassing situation of which accommodations to use. But then again, perhaps you should look at some apartments instead.

Packing Tips For A Music Festival

By Mark Walters

Are you off to a weekend music festival sometime soon? If so, you should think carefully about what you pack and only take the bare essentials with you so you don't need to worry about losing things. One item that's really important for a music festival is a good pair of rubber boots. Music festivals can often end up getting really muddy, so taking your best sneakers probably isn't a great idea, but a pair of rubber boots should do the job.

You can also never predict the weather at music festivals and even the nicest summer's day can turn rainy in an instant, so taking some waterproof clothing is a really good idea. This will help to keep you dry if the weather does turn nasty and it also cuts down on the amount of other clothing you need to take. Another benefit of waterproof clothing is that it doesn't matter if it gets dirty as you can generally just wipe it down with a sponge.

A good tent is also a really good item for a weekend music festival, particularly if you are looking to stay overnight in order to soak up the atmosphere and get the most out of your trip. Something brightly colored and easy to spot at a distance is probably a good idea to avoid you getting lost in a sea of identical tents. A tent also gives you good base for the festival and somewhere to leave your bags while you're away watching bands.

Taking your own food and drink can also be a good option for music festivals as it can often be quite expensive if you choose to buy stuff there. You should always remember to check out the festival rules before taking things in, though, as not all festivals let you take in food and drink. This is because they like you to buy things from their approved sponsors, but if you are allowed to take food, it means you'll spend much less time stuck in long queues.

One last thing to take to a weekend music festival is something that relates to your favorite band or artist. Most men go to festivals because there's a particular group they want to see, so dig out your band-related t shirts and hoodies to show your support. Lots of people do this, so it's a good way of identifying fellow fans. It also means you'll have something to talk about with strangers as it'll be easy to identify a shared interest.

Nowhere in Latin America will you find more handsome buildings from the Spanish colonial era. Palaces, mansions and churches are being painstakingly conserved in the old quarter.

In their 70s and 80s, singers Cam pay Segundo and Ibrahim Ferrer and pianist Ruben Gonzalez suddenly became world stars. They reintroduced Europeans and Americans to the magic of Afro-Cuban music.

Bisbol: Yes, baseball is Cuba's national sport. A version of the United States' national game, which Arcwak Indians called batos, existed here even before the Spanish arrived. It developed in its modern form with the growth of American influence in the late 19th century. Today every town has a baseball diamond. Encouraged by Fidel Castro who impressed Americans in 1 950s with his talent as a pitcher, Cuba's national team is the best in Latin America and be came Olympic champions at Atlanta, Georgia, in 1996.

Cruises For Family Can Truly Free You From Holiday Stress

By Adriana Noton

Family holidays ordinarily require a lot of planning and a great many factors need to be taken into consideration. Many things can cause problems. The destination may not be to the liking of everybody, limited facilities and activities may be available for young people and the trip itself may be taxing. Most of these hassles can be avoided when considering cruises for family.

When considering a voyage, it is important to ensure that the liner will meet all your requirements. Most liners offer various programs for different age groups, and it would be sensible to make sure that provision is made for every member of your group. The destinations should also be taken into account. Too many stops may leave no time for proper onshore exploration, while too few may cause onboard life to become monotonous.

The care and safety of babies and toddlers are often the major factor when planning a holiday. They need constant attention, and can severely restrict the activities of other members of the family. Most liners solve this problem with the availability of extensive programs aimed at babies and young children. These programs aim to provide a variety of activities in a safe environment. Caregivers are well qualified and experience, allowing you to also enjoy the break.

Many parents will testify that happy teenagers ensure that the rest of the family can also enjoy their holiday. Most liners provide for this age group with a host of activities and social opportunities. All activities are supervised and parents are at all times able to determine their whereabouts. Some liners offer separate accommodation for young people.

Adults can enjoy their voyage without worrying about the safety and enjoyment of their offspring. Activities on offer may vary wildly between gambling at stylish casinos, romantic meals, onshore excursions and formal dinner parties with live entertainment. You may even choose to attend lectures or you may simply opt to relax at the pool. An ideal mix between family activities and private time is possible.

There are many advantages to this type of holiday. Most packages are all inclusive, allowing for a carefree holiday with no unpleasant financial surprises. The different destinations during the trip also allow for greater variety and a more flexible vacation. Many cite the absence of stress about children as the biggest advantage of all.

Detractors of sea voyages argue that cruise liners can be the cause of disease spreading very quickly in the closed environment. Luckily this is a rare occurrence and is mostly easy to deal with. Seasickness, also, is cited as a drawback, although very few people suffer this indignity on large liners. Quarters may be small and cramped, though.

It is no wonder that this type of holiday become an institution with so many families. It is possible to visit a wide variety of destinations, minimal planning is necessary and provision can easily be made for the unique preferences of everybody in the group. Considering Toronto cruises for family may change your ideas of the ideal holiday.

Tutoring Skills Enhanced With A More Holistic Approach

By Nicole Lanning

We all have many things in our life that we are good at. They can range in a variety of different ways, but we also have things that we can improve on, and need to accomplish, in many different areas.

Tutoring skills may be one of the things that you need to improve in your life, especially if you're reading this article.

There are many different ways that you can improve all of these issues, but I like to introduce you to some of the ways that are not really thought about such as alternative modalities to enhance these areas of your life.

What can these types of modalities do for my life, or even how can they help work on my own tutoring skills? This is probably one of the biggest, and misconceived, questions that can arise.

When you're working with alternative techniques in your life, it is all about understanding there is a balance that needs to be set. When I refer to balance, I am talking about working on those mind - body - spiritual level connections.

There are many different ways to work with these types of properties; you just have to understand how to incorporate them into life. You have to find where you need to implement them, work on the root cause, and balance all of the issues.

Working with your tutoring skills, how to these issues make you feel and what are the underlying root causes that need to be worked on first?

Once you answer this question, this will give you the keys to figuring out how to heal all the different areas so that you can enhance the specific target for your healing work.

Many people get confused when there working with complementary modalities in their life, as they really don't understand how they all fit in or how to balance them all. It is about working on them through the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical levels together in one session.

Each of these areas can be tap into through a different therapy for this purpose.

There are a ton of different things you can work with, but I've listed some of the more easier ones to get started. They are working with purging and releasing techniques, color therapy, crystal healing, light therapy, positive mindsets, meditation, vibrational sound healing, spiritual connections development, Reiki healing, so work, music therapy, and affirmation therapy.

Let's get you started on working with some of the basics right now.

Crystal healing is a popular way to work with different types of tutoring issues. Anyone can do this work, as it is all about finding the crystal that resonates within your own energetic vibrational frequency field.

Shifting your positive mindset is another way to help boost and enhance these skills. You have to stay in a positive mindset, and in the present moment, to really enjoy this type of work.

This therapy is something that is really fun to work with and can be used for this type of healing session, as well as any other sessions in your life. Make sure to have fun and upbeat music when you're working with this type of therapy.

Developing your spiritual connections is something that everyone needs to do no matter what type of work they're doing, whether it's working with your tutoring skills, or something else in their life. Connect them with your higher self and have it expand out the energetic fields.

When you get started with this type of work, it can sometimes be overwhelming or frustrating when you began. But it is all about finding what balances in resonates within your own vibrational frequency fields.

To get started, pick one of the above listed modalities that I suggested and do a little bit of background work. Each modality is going to resonate differently with in each person's own energy fields.

I think probably one of the biggest things that most people forget when you're working on a healing session, whether it's for your tutoring skills or another type of healing session, is that they need to find one that makes them feel good during this time.

If you're not enjoying this type of work, then you're not going to be successful in this type of healing session. What will work for one person may not always work for another.

This is where the fun part really begins on your new journey to enhancing your life.

Balancing all of these different areas of your life is something that is going to resonate differently for each individual person. You have to find the one that works for you and is complementary to your life. All of these issues we're facing are different, as well as how we are going to respond to them, so pick the ones that work for the best possible results.

Unfortunately at times you will come across people that would try to persuade you into either doing a different type of work, same what you doing is not right, or other negative issues. Remember this is your life.

Your own healing sessions have nothing to do with anyone else in your life, so remember to stay strong and that it is about your own healing work so that you do not get persuaded into living your life for someone else.

Work with some of the therapies today and see how they can improve your tutoring skills, and other issues in your life that you are facing, so that you can have your own new journey and spiritual pathway that makes you proud to be who you are.

Costa Brava Hotels: Plenty Happening In Spain This Spring

By Claire Collins

Head to Spain this spring, and enjoy some of the fun and memorable events happening across the country. For instance, April sees the Flower Torches Festival happening on Easter Sunday in Sao Bras de Alportel, in the Algarve region.

The day starts at dawn, when men carry the flower torches around the streets, calling out prayers. At the end of the day everyone gathers in procession and heads to the town's main Church. Here the torches are judged on their decoration and prizes are given out. The night is spent with dancing, music, food and drink, so be sure to book into one of the Algarve hotels in the area to take part in this fun and vibrant festival.

On May 3rd, in the Costa Blanca you can witness the "Cruces de Mayo festival", or Festival of the Crosses. This day is inspired by the original search for the cross of Jesus, and sees families and groups make their own elaborately decorated crosses which are stood in the town squares. There is always a desire to have the most intricately decorated cross, making it quite a sight! You should look for one of the Costa Blanca hotels near the main events, so you can experience the happy atmosphere of this fun and popular event.

If you're heading to the Costa Brava, then later in May you can join in a fun and active event which takes place here every year. This is the annual 40 kilometre walk which sees a couple of thousand keen walkers turn up to take part, for no reason other than that they enjoy a good walk.

It doesn't matter if you're not very fit, or not fast, because this isn't a race or a competition. This is all about people walking for the sake of it - enjoying some of the country's most attractive scenery, and even making new friends. Book Costa Brava hotels near Banyoles, which is where the walk starts and finishes.

Broome Australia Has Become An Fascinating Destination.

By Dalene Conroy

Broome is a town in Western Australia, north of Perth. In 1883 it was named after the then governor of Western Australia, Sir Frederick Broome. He thought it an insult rather than an honour, and asked for the name to be changed. Today Broome Australia offers first class accommodation and other amenities.

The aboriginal Yawuri people originally lived in the place where the town was built. When the colonists came they tried some things like sheep farming, but struggled with many difficulties. Soon they found the oysters in the sea much more profitable.

In the seas around Broome the giant North West Pearl oyster or Pinctada Maxima was prolific. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries many objects were made from mother of pearl. Although some pearls were found it was really the oyster shell that was valuable as mother of pearl. In the early twentieth century before plastic compounds there were many uses for this natural product.

Pinctada Maxima shells are six to nine inches across. This made them very sought after because the beautiful interior sheen could be used to create larger objects. It was used for combs, hair brush backings and ornaments. The shells made more money for the people than the pearls. However some pearls were found and they contributed to profits.

As usual there were those members of society who employed others to do the hard work whilst they sat on their verandas and grew rich. Japanese and aboriginal workers flocked to the area and packed into 'luggers' to go diving. The aboriginal people also did diving, but the Japanese were skilled having done similar diving work back in Japan.

It was dangerous work. Divers packed into boats called 'luggers'. Rough seas, cyclones, sharks and similar hazards claimed many lives. There were also dangers inherent in diving, such as coming up to the surface too rapidly. The 'bends' or decompression sickness were further hazards, as were conditions ashore where the Japanese divers lived in crowded conditions. A cemetery marks where they died.

The original pearl industry has grown into the production of cultured pearls. This fits nicely with the tourist industry. Tourists are able to visit the historical sites and also enjoy the beaches and first class accommodation.

Nearby Cable Beach offers more than twenty kilometres of clean white sand that is regularly washed by the tides. The beach may be enjoyed for its space and camel rides may be taken. Part of the beach is used for Australia's most famous nudist beach.

To the East of Broome is the famous Roebuck Bay, a Mecca for bird watchers. Migratory waders come here from their breeding grounds in East Asia and feed in the inter tidal zones. An observatory has been established to advance knowledge of the birds and their habits.

Visits to Broome should be planned with one eye on the weather. The tropical climate is distinguished by 'wet' and 'dry' seasons. Although conditions are erratic, most heavy rains and cyclonic storms occur between January and March. The dry season, from May to November, has temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and clear skies.

However, because of the downturn in the economy and global recession, we've seen a current decline in the amount of people purchasing property in Spain and owners and developers alike have had to reduce their costs significantly in order to sell the properties.

Industry experts predict that reduced interest rates in Europe will help to promote the Spanish and other European property markets. Having much lower rates in interest and extensive governmental pressure on respective banks to improve domestic financing, property markets will start to acquire once again and people will once more have the ability to fund their dream home in Spain. It has also reasserted itself being a well-known holiday destination that will help the country's holiday rental market a good deal. There's also a growth in the amount of people looking to purchase in emerging markets outside Spain that has led to a surfeit of unsold properties on the Spanish coasts. However, lately, flights to a number of promising European locations were canceled and suddenly these nations are no longer looking like a real great place for property investment.

Meanwhile, property prices in Spain have fallen to try and clear the number of unsold new homes, so people are now applying this as an opportunity to snap up a bargain and this will still keep on. Many property experts are urging people to purchase right now while costs are more affordable, so they can make money on their property over time as the market starts to secure again.

Whatever the transforming economic circumstances the underlying explanations why foreign buyers love Spain stay the same. The all year-round sunshine, easy going way of life and relatively reduced living costs are still strong draw aspects. The weather solely causes it to be among the preferred locations with 300 days of sunshine every year and average temperatures between 18 and 30 degree Celsius. Additionally, many people who find themselves aiming to retire overseas understand that growing attractions may not have the same quality of healthcare or family culture they see Spain providing them.

Find Melbourne Accommodation Tennis Options, Short Walk To Melbourne Park

By Jasmine Zahara

The Australian Open tennis tournament is the Grand Slam tournament of Asia/Pacific. The tournament is played on hard courts at Melbourne Park in the Australian state of Victoria. The Australian Open occurs annually during the month of January, which is of course during the Australian summer. This year (2010) the Mens' Singles were won by Roger Federer, and the Womens' Singles by Serena Williams. This Melbourne accommodation tennis article surveys some of the hotel accommodation in the city which is convenient for fans following this tournament.

The Australian Open is played at Melbourne Park Tennis Centre in Batman Avenue, just to the south east of Melbourne's Central Business District. One hotel just beyond the city centre end of Batman Avenue is the 4.5 star Medina Executive in Flinders Street. This is just under 700 metres from the Tennis Centre.

The Medina Executive is a seventeen storey building, with four car park levels. As well as being conveniently placed for the tennis, it is also near to Melbourne Cricket Ground, and just a couple of minutes by foot from Federation Square.

The Medina offers self contained apartments with one, two or three bedrooms. Apartments have good views, either across the Melbourne cityscape, or across the river and the bay. Rooms at the Medina Executive all have satellite TV, and there is a gymnasium available for the use of guests.

The Medina Executive is in an area of town with some of Melbourne's top restaurants and best theatres. Nearby restaurants include the Press Club, Fifteen and Movida. The Circle Tram line runs just past the Medina, and it is just a short ride to some other Melbourne sights such as the Queen Vic market, and Docklands.

As the Medina Executive is one of the closest hotels to the tennis and cricket grounds it can be expected to be fully booked during major sporting events, so early booking is advised. This hotel can be booked online at any good hotel accommodation website specializing in Australia/New Zealand travel.

The Hotel Lindrum, also on Flinders Street, is also just a short distance from the Australian Open venue. The Lindrum (59 suites and rooms) is a four star establishment. Full breakfast is served by the Lindrum's restaurant, and all rooms have CD/DVD players, satellite TV, high speed internet and tea/coffee making facilities.

As well as being convenient for tennis and cricket fans, both these Melbourne hotels are within easy reach of the Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex on Melbourne's Southbank Promenade, which is just across the St. Kilda Road bridge from Flinders Street. The Crown Casino complex was opened just over ten years ago, as part of the urban renewal project which transformed the Southbank Area.

Although the Crown complex boasts three hotels (Crown Towers, Crown Promenade, Crown Metropol) and many shops and restaurants, the largest business is the Crown casino. The Crown Casino has over 2000 poker machines, and 350 gaming tables, which make it the largest casino south of the equator. Hotels in the Crown Complex are a bit further from the tennis ground than the Medina and Lindrum, but still within reasonable walking distance.

The Whole Family Can Enjoy Horseback Riding Vacations

By Harry Scott

Horseback riding vacations are a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you travel as a family or as a couple, you are able to enjoy nature's scenic beauty on the back of a horse. Family friendly or romantic, the choice is up to you.

Before signing up for an extended horseback vacation however, you may want to experience a shorter version. It will help you enormously to break in your rear end slowly, as being saddle sore is one side effect of spending long days in a saddle. It's also a good idea to learn to ride on gentle horses first -- leave the stallions for those more experienced. As soon as you feel confident in your riding skills and you've hardened your muscles a bit, it will be time to sign up for that long riding vacation.

An equestrian vacation spent at a dude ranch could be fun for the entire family, but it's not a good idea to surprise anyone with a week-long stay at this kind of location. You might find that some members of family are not really the cowboy or cowgirl type. If, however, you've all discussed it and are rearing to go, then saddle up for a fun time at the ranch!

Shopping for your dude ranch clothing is part of the fun with this kind of vacation. Be sure to trick yourself out in the latest cowboy styles but pay attention to comfort as well. Jeans and western-style shirts are on the fashion menu, and you will need to have a good pair of boots for your trip as well. Don't forget a cowboy hat to shade your eyes and protect your face from the sun, and wearing sunblock would be well-advised as well.

With just a little bit of planning, you and your family can have a wonderful horseback riding vacation. Giddy up partner, the fillies are ready for the trail.
