Tips On Getting Around Costa Rica In Low Cost Vehicle Rentals

By Paula Storm

So getting around is no problem. Taxis are everywhere and reasonably priced. Fortunately , almost all of the things you will need to see are doubtless out of San Jose, so inexpensive car rentals work because you most certainly do not want to drive in San Jose! In actual fact unless you are going to stay in Costa Rica for an extended period, I'd avoid driving in San Jose, the country's capitol.

In the event you should have an accident, they've got a systematic and discerning system for deciding the guilt of the parties for the purposes of reparation. Unlike any other countries, and I have been driving frequently in Costa Rica for a few years, I have been unable to find the police too concerned with your driver's license from another country, especially if you've got an IDP or a passport.

Prestige car hire is available in Costa Rica from varied rental car companies and locations through this small country. You may not choose to drive in some areas like downtown San Jose. That experience is certainly a bit too busy, more precisely, insane, and driving there is not especially mandatory thanks to the bus transit system. Taxis are Costa Rica's second car and my experience has found them safe and fair with their charges.

If you want to go to the pretty inviting beaches in Costa Rica, please be advised that Costa Rica's infra structure in the area of septic waste treatment has a somewhat obscure history of contamination. To be specific, as late as 2010, the following beaches were cited for high to super levels of fecal contamination: Portete, Los Banos, Cieneguita, Tarcoles, Giacaloillo, Quepos.

Additionally, Jaco and Tamarindo finally passed the laboratory tests following 3 years of high unsuitable contamination. However a warning: raw sewage still spews unabated daily from houses and hotels right into the rivers and brooks and into the ocean near these popular beaches. So much for Costa Ricas frail eco system and swimming/surfing in Costa Rica!
